| kay24's Full Review: Swiss Army Swiss Card |
The Victorinox SWISSCARD was purchased for me as a birthday gift.
When I received it, I thought what on earth do I need one of these for?
It took me a few weeks to unpack it from its wrappings and examine it. OK got a few things in it.. may as well put it in my handbag?
Since then I have used the scissors for all sorts of applications, the tweezers for removing a splinter (I didn't think they would cope as they are quite light weight!..but they did!), The knife for opening things and cutting fruit, The file for my nails, The pen for writing a note to someone I called on and they were not home, The pin was handy when I walked around town for hours in the wrong shoes and got a enormous blister!.
I have never used the toothpick...it is the only part of this card that to me is a bit useless.. It is light weight plastic and wouldn't last long in my opinion.
Besides the above the SWISSCARD also has an edge marked out in centimeters (7),a protractor with markings to 50 degrees, and the nail file doubles as a screwdriver.
The card itself measures 3 1/4" x 2 1/4" , and weighs only 1oz..so it is a very handy size and weight to carry around in a handbag.
The color I have is ruby red but I believe it also comes in emerald green.
I have become very attached to my SWISSCARD and always have it in my handbag.
This caused a me a bit of an upset when I flew International just recently . I had the knife part confiscated by customs (due to increased security due to terrorist actions). I was able to get a replacement knife for my card...good news for anyone who might need replacement parts!
So good advice ... when travelling take your SWISSCARD out of your handbag and put it into your suitcase while flying!
I love my SWISSCARD and would be lost without it.
A great gift to buy someone who has everything else!
