I have used the free virus program from grisoft.com on my home computer for over a year. I really hadn’t had any problems with it, but was always concerned about what kind of protection I was really getting. At my office we have been using Norton since I went to work there and for some reason I always felt just a little safer than I did at home with my free home virus software.
When my husband purchased Windows XP for my home computer, I became even more worried about my free virus protection. While we were out Christmas shopping we saw the new Norton AV 2002 virus protection software and decided to purchase it, with hopes of our home computer being better protected. I had heard of people having problems with Norton’s virus software in the past, but since I had not experienced this at work, we decided to purchase it and see how things went.
I have to say that I have been using Norton AV 2002 for a little over a month now and I love it. Not only do I feel that my computer is better protected, but I also feel that people that I send email to are also better protected. Let me tell you a few of the things I like about my new virus protection.

I have to tell you that the installation was quick and easy. Using Windows XP, I had worried a little about the installation. All my fears were wrong and it loaded onto my computer with no problems. During installation I was given the opportunity to upgrade to the latest version and this was great. That way I knew my system was up-to-date with all of the latest virus fighting software.
I use this program for everything I can. It not only protects and checks all of my drives from bad disk or files, but I also use it to scan all my incoming and outgoing email. I have gotten two viruses since installing the Norton AV 2002 and it has caught both of them. It offers you the choice to clean, delete or continue, of course the choice is yours. The scanning of my outgoing messages protects my friends and family from receiving worms, since it scans the outgoing messages for the type of virus or worm that automatically sends itself to everyone in your address book if you have Outlook or Outlook Express. This is my favorite feature of the entire software, it does take a couple of extra seconds to send out your email, but it is worth it to know that your email is virus free.
Updating Norton AV 2002 is so easy you can do it in your sleep; which is exactly what I do. The auto-update feature will download the latest updates when you are asleep or in the background while you are on-line. It works great and I have the security of knowing that my virus software is always up-to-date. I also have my set to do a complete virus scan once a week at a time when I am away from my computer. I always feel confident that my software and computer are scanned and up-to-date with the latest virus protection.
This is a very easy virus program to load, understand, and update. I have been very pleased with its performance. Symantec Norton AV 2002 has to be the leader of the pack in virus software. I know at my house I am glad to have and would recommend it to anyone. If you are looking for a virus protection system for your computer look no further than Symantec Norton AV 2002.
