Pros: Stunning picture quality. Lots of features. HTPC friendly. Looks nice on a wall.
Cons: Menu nav a bit odd. Remote = ugly. Speakers = cheap.
The Bottom Line: Has great picture quality and features for the price. PQ can rival Sony Bravias. Jump on a deal for this TV and you'll be amazed.

| thebiggerfish's Full Review: Olevia 232V 32 in. TV |
I had been tracking the price of this TV for awhile through Circuit City and finally decided to buy when the price dropped. I cannot believe the quality and features you get for the price.
Olevia models are made by Syntax-Brillian corp. The company is gaining popularity for their quality products at low prices. This particular TV uses one of 2 LCD panels, LG or CMO. Both companies make quality panels. I found my TV uses an LG panel from the S/N. For picture processing, it uses the ATi Xilleon chipset. Again, using a reputable company.
ok, so onto the good things about this TV...
It has some good inputs. HDMI, VGA, VGA-over-component, Component, composite, S-vid and RF. Input placement is good on the rear of the set (underside and on side). Also included is a USB firmware upgrade port (takes thumbdrive) and serial service port (probably don't want to mess with that tho). It takes a standard monitor power cable.
Easily wall-mountable. It features VESA 100x200 holes and a removable base. It has enough venting on the top and sides so I mounted mine with 1" wall clearance. The manual doesn't recommend this, but there is adequate space for ventilation. TV is a little heavy though at 35lbs so be sure you get the bracket in the wall studs.
Picture quality is stunning. Unlike with my Sony KDF-E42A10 RP LCD, I didn't have to fix any 'red push' or any color settings from factory. In fact, all settings except sharpness I left alone until I run AVIA DVD. The backlight is super bright and it has 3 backlight brightness settings. DVD picture from Oppo OPDV971H is unreal.
Great menu features. Has everything from turning off the standby LED to fine-adjusting picture placement on screen whcih is very useful in VGA mode.
Excellent for HTPC application. Looks best at 1360x768, but at that res, text is very small. I have my HTPC set at 1024x768 w/ 120dpi fonts so I can browse Internet and write lengthy reviews about this thing on my bed. NO under/overscan!!! Ati picture processing at work :) Crystal clear picture from PC.
Some dislikes...
I have heard the speakers stink. I wouldn't know or care because I have everything going thru surround. That's the only way to do it IMO anyway.
Menu navigation a bit odd, but you get used to it. Input switching is a bit delayed.
Firmware update still didn't fix bright blue standby LED not going off when it should.
Remote is ugly, but again, the only real way to do it is one remote for everything. Think Logitech Harmony.
