I've bought an Olevia 537 almost 2 year ago from Tiger Direct. The first one I brought home stopped working after 2 weeks. I exchanged the unit with no problems, and the replacement has been working beautifully ever since. While I have seen a sharper picture and better black levels on some other brands, over all, I am very satisfied with the unit. The HD image quality is very good to excellent depending on the cable channel and program. SD image quality is better than anything else I've seen. Picture quality with a decent progressive scan dvd player is excellent. My main complaint with the 537 is that dark scenes on dvds and cable are hard to see, and reveal the tv's mediocre black levels.
There has been mention of poor Olevia customer service from a few reviewers. Given Olevia's financial situation this will likely remain an issue, assuming there is anyone left to answer the phone! Maybe the new company will get it together. I wish now that I had purchased the aftermarket warranty on the TV instead of the extended manufacturer's warranty.
I don't know if you can still buy these TVs. They werre definately a terrific bargain when I purchased one (about $700 Canadian). They may show up on the reconditioned market. If so they are worth looking at.
