Pros: extremely easy to use, great navigation system, perfect for on the go listening
Cons: major battery hog, confusing software, cheap make, ugly
The Bottom Line: It's a great system for students, but excercisers may want to hold off for the RioVolt. A very solid system with a few minor glitches.

| aeoliancadence's Full Review: TDK MOJO Personal CD Player |
I've had quite a few experiences with bad CD players in my time. Last week, my third Philips CD player went berzerk and died, leaving me with a very important decision, in my opinion: what CD player to buy?
I was interested in buying an MP3-CD player because of the amount of storage you can use on the CDs, meaning I can put all of my MP3s to use, but can still be lazy and drag out the occasional plain vanilla CD. I checked the lovely epinions and saw the Mojo as well as the RioVolt, but after scouting both out at my local Best Buy, I picked the Mojo.
I bought mine first thing during the Christmas sales and was able to get a major deal on it, so don't be scared by the price. After running out of Best Buy and opening it with my scissors in the car, I was pleasantly surprised that batteries were included -- and there's a reason for that. Because you will become friends with batteries. I've had the Mojo for about 72 hrs and have been listening to it basically nonstop, but my batteries were shot by last night.
The LCD screen totally blew me away -- way more than I expected. It's extremely helpful to have track info on there for MP3 CDs, especially considering that it is difficult to sort your way through 200 songs. The backlight was also a major selling point for me, as I go on a lot of weekend trips that require sight in little to no lighting.
The navigation system for MP3-CDs is absolutely marvelous. You can choose a song to play by title, artist, genre, or directory. You can even make your own playlists on the system itself, which is rather easy to do. My only complaint is that there is a "remove all" option on your playlist, but my remove button never seems to work correctly...
All in all, a perfect system for an on-the-go high school student like me. But there are some downsides. When my batteries ran out last night, I used the AC adapter to listen to some new CDs... and it makes horrible noises. The scanning of CDs is extremely loud using the adapter, and it's also much slower. So make sure to always have batteries on hand. The plastic rim near the edge of the player is already peeling off for me, and I've been taking extreme care with it. And, for those cosmetically inclined, it's ugly. Or at least uglier than the RioVolt players. You decide.
