Pros: Support for lyrics, power-saving spindown while playing, only 2 AA's
Cons: Doesn't support WMA or mp3PRO (but upgradable!), battery troubles.
The Bottom Line: The only thing holding it back from a to-die-for award is its lack of WMA or mp3PRO support. But it's upgradable.

| neo1234's Full Review: TDK MOJO Personal CD Player |
This thing is simply awesome. Its flash ROM is upgradable and it even lets you edit the startup screen. It has a memory for up to 10 CDs so it doesn't have to spend an entire hour cataloging the CD every time you turn it on. You can pick exactly what music you want to hear, what artist, what genre, etc. It runs on only 2 AA batteries (my old one, an RCA, took 4), but tends to claim its batteries to be dead when they are 90% full (after about 5 hours of use!). I never actually let it run completely out, but when the battery meter was flashing at me, I took them out and tested them (they were Duracell Ultras), and they were 90% full. It doesn't have a built-in battery charger (sigh), but it lasts long enough not to have to charge the batteries for a week or so on a charge.
It supports all kinds of cool stuff, like their own LyricSync format for the Lyric ID3v2 tag. For each line of lyric, it puts a little timestamp on it like "[02:54]I tried so hard". That way, all the lyrics are in sync with the music. That's real useful if you have your mp3s encoded at 56kbps and can't understand what on earth the singer is saying.
This is only the second mp3 player I've seen that actually spins down the CD after its ESP memory is full. It reads about 3 songs ahead, then spins down the CD to save battery (and make less noise). It has a backlit LCD that is incredibly clear even under full sunlight. You can even change that MOJO startup logo to any picture you can think of! It supports that and firmware upgrading by burning a special file onto your MP3 cd (which is simply a normal data CD with mp3s in it somewhere).
I haven't tested it very much, but it doesn't seem to like multisession CDs too much. I was experimenting with the Lyric program, and I didn't feel like erasing my CD-RW every time I wanted to test an MP3, so I just kept creating one session on top of the other. For some reason, after I did my third session, it went back to reading the first one instead of the latest one. It may be because of my settings, or because of the fact that my CD was quite scratched, but it wasn't the MOJO's fault ;-).
Put simply, you couldn't ask for more. The only thing you COULD ask for is maybe WMA or mp3PRO support. Jeez, this thing even comes with a remote (with EVERY button from the control panel on it, even digital volume control!) so you can stash the player in your pack and still be able to skip those slow, boring songs you hate!
