Pros: great graphics, challenging racing, lots of fun with freestyle mode pulling insane tricks
Cons: none simply awesome
The Bottom Line: Just a straight out fun game to play, like your really catching mad air and busting an insane trick.

THQ MX 2002 Featuring Ricky Carmichael is an awesome dirt bike game. Personally I used to race dirt bikes, at a track near my house for many years until I got an injury so I know the sport. So far with nothing to compare this game to I’d have to say that it’s as real as it gets. Your options are to either play a season mode or exhibition mode. Exhibition mode you basically practice racing or just screw around on the bike. Season mode allows you to race all the major motocross and supercross circuits, from Glen Helen to Louisiana Supercross to a rock query or a snow mountain, the locations are endless. Each time you rank in the top 3 or better you open up a newer track. The game also has 3 other modes special modes you open. The freestyle stunt competition where you pull insane moves, bike step up where you jump the beam for height, and finally the bus jump where you go for distance. The game offers a bunch of different riders including Emig, Ramsey, Wey, Mad Mike Jones, and many more. The graphics in the game are very good, you see every detail from the bike slide into the corner or roosting in the face of the rider behind you, no detail was left out. The controls in the game allow you to use clutch work and even pre load your suspension to adjust for each jump. The game is about as close as you can get other than going racing for yourself. If you think your going to just cruise through this game and wipe out every rider you race, you got another thing coming. All it takes is one slip up and your though, your in the last place trying to fight your way to the front. And let me tell you the riders don’t slow down and wait for you. Anyhow this game is great fun for your average Joe or your diehard dirt bike fan. This game is a must on all systems.
