Cons: Works for about one hour, probably not for all hair types as advertised.
The Bottom Line: In my opinion, this seems like the thing for those who have thin hair that is not too long. But use it if you want protection from thermal damage.
beena500's Full Review: Tigi Bed Head Superstar Thick Massive Hair
Hey everybody, guess what? Yep, I have flat hair! And thank God Im not the only one, because it seems like the hair care product world has made dozens of products to give hair more volume and oomph.
After reading a review on TiGis Bed Head line on Superstar I decided that this would be exactly what I needed to keep from looking like my scalp was painted black (yes thats how flat it was) and that I actually had hair. I have been using this every weekday for about 4 months, so consider my opinion valid.
The Product: Superstar comes in a strong, purple, clear plastic bottle in the shape of an hourglass. It has a gray squirt top and has the label painted on in sparkly gray lettering. The liquid inside can only be described as, believe it or not, thick water. Seriously, it is like water, but thicker and slightly sticky.
It has a very nice, fruit-punch like smell which lasts for a tiny bit. The liquid comes easily out of the bottle, although one has to shake it out because the bottle is too rigid to squeeze.
Claims:
From the website: Superstar is a thermal blow dry lotion that pumps up volume to unbelievable heights.
Look .thick massive hair
Feel silky & smooth
Consistency lightweight
Hair Types .any hair length or texture
Details protects hair from styling damage
The Pros:
True to one of its claims, it protects hair from styling damage. My hair is usually damaged after I blow dry, because lets face it, I am not going to tire my arm out by holding the blow dryer six inches away from my head (Im too lazy and impatient, I want it dried NOW!). But after using Superstar my hair has minimal damage, and lies very smoothly.
Superstar also has a very lightweight consistency, you can hardly feel it (hardly).
The Cons:
After reading a glowing report on Superstar I was sorely disappointed with the results that I got after using it. First of all I followed directions (Pour a generous amount into palm of hand and work through damp or dry hair. Blow dry damp hair.) and it worked! For a little bit.
The first time I bought this my hair was down to my shoulders. It has normal thickness and when I used Superstar I concentrated on the roots. After I blow dried my hair (upside down) it was slightly elevated, but by the end of the day it had fallen flat.
Then I had my hair cut just above my shoulders in a razor and layer cut and used Superstar. The first day was fantastic, my hair was pumped up and was very obedient to my wishes. Then it went back to its own tricks. I tried small and large amounts, but alas, it was not to be.
Also, if you use too much (which depends on the length and thickness of your hair) your hair feels slightly rough and stiff, as if youve put too much hair spray on.
