Pros: Crinkles in addition to squeaks, holding up well to a chewer.
Cons: Packaging could be better.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this particular toy for a small dog. They'll likely love the addition of crinkling with the squeaking. Get a larger one for your big dog.

| lllovemakeup's Full Review: TY Bow Wow Beanie Tan Dog |
Our living room looks like a pet toy factory blew up in it. We also appear to have collateral damage in the backyard. In other words, our beloved puppy has lots of toys.
While Sugar and I were browsing at a pet store a few weeks ago, I spotted the Ty Bow Wow Beanie Tan Dog. He's around 8" long, and guess what color he is! I paid $5.99.
The newest addition to our, "Thank you, darlin', for never chewing on mommy's shoes" arsenal is a plush toy that, when squeezed, makes crinkle noises in addition to squeaking. When I gave it a squeeze in the store, Sugar let it be known that it was love at first, uh, sound.
Sugar is definitely a chewer. She has many plush, squeaky toys that end up in the pet toy hospital until I have time to put needle to thread and repair boo-boos. I chose this particular Beanie as it appears the only thing she'll be able to eventually chew/rip off are the ears. This is definitely her new favorite toy, and it is holding up to her chewing very well. So far, so good.
I also like that this toy is very well-made. The seams are tightly stitched, and barely move when I try to pull two sewn pieces apart. I don't expect these toys to last forever, but a few months would be nice.
One complaint I have about this toy is the packaging: These Ty Bow Wow Beanie toys are sewn onto a piece of cardboard. When you get them home, you simply snip the thick thread on the opposite side of the cardboard, gently pull the cardboard away, then pull the thread out of the toy. The problem is that the thick thread is so thick that you end up with a toy that already has small holes, and a little stuffing comes out when you pull the thread. This little toy was in the pet toy hospital first thing! It was easy enough for me to sew up the holes, but I wish the manufacturer would come up with more consumer-friendly packaging. As the holes are small, this may not be a big consideration for others.
There are many incarnations of the Ty Bow Wow Beanie from which to choose. There are many different characters, and they also come in much larger sizes for larger dogs.
I do recommend the Ty Bow Wow Beanie. With the exception of having to repair a few small holes at the beginning, this toy is holding up very well, and most importantly, Sugar absolutely adores this toy. I would normally knock down one star because of the packaging, but this toy offers something a little different, our sweet girl happily runs around crinkling and squeaking this newest addition several times a day, and it gives her something fun to chew on, so I'm giving this Ty Bow Wow Beanie...
Four "if it makes my baby happy, then I'm happy" stars.
