I received the T-Fal Armaral Set as a gift from my boyfriend this past Christmas. Since moving in together seven years ago, we had been using a mixed combination of cheap, hand-me-down pots, and we were finally ready to go out there and get our own "adult" pot set. I was a little nervous that my boyfriend choose this set on his own (without any research), but the results have been wonderful so far.
My pot set included two saucepans, two frying pans, a double-handled stock pot, and three lids which cover all five pots. The pots feel weighty and substantial in your hands, but they are not heavy. The pots heat evenly and have a cool-touch handle feature which allows you to touch the handle without a potholder.
Given that my past experiences with non-stick pots have always been with very cheap versions, I never believed that non-stick could truly work as it was supposed to. Well, now I'm a believer! Nothing sticks to these pots, even when you mistakenly overcook something. Omelets are a joy to make--the eggs just slide right out of the pan. Just about anything is easy to cook on this wonderful non-stick surface.
I also love the lids of these pots for two reasons: 1) they fit over the outside edge of pot rather than fitting into the inside, which makes them less messy, and 2) they are vented, which is great when you have to leave a covered pot unwatched on the stove. The other wonderful thing about these pots is the clean up: they require little more than a rinse and they are as good as new!
One down side is that you are not supposed to use high levels of heat, but I understand that this is true of all non-stick pots. Similarly, although the pots are dishwasher safe, the manual warns that putting the pots in the dishwasher might dull the enamel finish. Since I love the bright blue coating of my pots, I've chosen to wash them by hand, but as I mentioned above, this is a breeze, so I don't mind at all.
