| pcomsec's Full Review: T-Mobile Phone Service in Philadelphia |
My husband has had T-Mobile cell phone service for at least 6 years. He loved it. I think he only loved it because it was all he ever knew. One of the reasons he loved it was because his phone had a stereo in it and he could wear headphones all day and listen to music on his phone - which by the way was a T-Mobile phone and a service that is not available on many other phones/carriers.
He also liked that he had many friends and relatives that were on the same service and they got free minutes. Ok, I understand that part.
However, I was never happy with his carrier. He had a lot of missed calls, dropped calls, etc. I also didnt like the set up of his phone. Just the icons, the way you had to retrieve messages, etc. I also looked at both of our phone bills and think his bill was much harder to decipher. I also set up over the T-Mobile website an account for him so he could view bills online, etc. and really didnt like their website design as much as Verizons.
I, on the other hand, have had Verizon Wireless for as long as I have had wireless service - which is over 10 years. I love it - again, maybe because it is all I have ever known. Anyway, since we got married and money is tight, I suggested I put him on my plan to save money.
1. He said well, I dont know when my contracts up. I said he could probably find out by calling T-Mobile. 2. But I dont want to change my number, everybody knows this number. I called Verizon and found out that he could in fact keep his number, that they would give him a temporary number for a short time and then transport his old number over. 3. He said But I dont want a temporary number. I called and they said the temporary number is only for about an hour, if that. 4. He said He said But I just got this phone not that long ago and I like it. I said he could get a newer phone and Im sure one he would like just as much if not better. 5. He said But I probably wont be able to listen to the radio. I suggested he hum to music in his head. 6. He said But Ive always had T-Mobile and I like them. Ok, now I lost my patience and used a few choice words that I really cant print here. I also explained to him that by adding him to my plan wed save about $60 a month. 7. He said Well Im not changing.
2 days later, were in the T-Mobile store transferring him to my plan. (Did I mention weve only been married ONE DAY at this point? - Hey ya gotta lay down the law early.) He got a new phone almost exactly like his old one except for no radio. After the rebate, his phone cost $99. His new phone has all the bells and whistles his old one did, except the set up is a little different. I was able to help him get used to it as the set up on my phone is almost identical. Now that hes had the phone he really does like it and I like it since Im saving money - I mean WERE saving money. Well really me because I was in charge of the cell phone bills.
So now were both on Verizon and were still married.
