My experiences with Taco del Mar have been great -- their fish tacos are delicious and inexpensive, and their burritos are quite filling. The three locations I've visited (two in downtown Portland and a new one out in Beaverton Town Square) have all been clean, and the staff has been friendly.
So far, so good .. but what about the bad? While the staff is friendly, they're sometimes under-trained, and they seem to have a high turn over rate. The 4th and Oak location in downtown Portland stays open late, and sometimes the beans and meat have been sitting in their hot pans a little too long.
Personally, I enjoy the restaurant. As I said earlier, the fish tacos are tasty and cheap, which makes it a good place to stop for a quick bite to eat.
Four stars for good, cheap, fast food, with occasional service issues. If you're looking for something more decadent, you're in the wrong place.
