... I got bogged down with this about two-thirds of the way through, after having become slightly pissed off by her tone which I perceived as 'oh look at me, ain't I so cool but sophisticated?'
The enthusiastic epinions here may save this from being one of the very few books I started that I didn't bother finishing.
I'll have to go back and think up some cons for you. Thanks K! ...t-žoo

I've always been a big fan of Sarah Vowell on "This American Life". Sounds like her book is just as good. Thanks for the review.

has always brought me to attention. Doesn't she sound like she's, like, 12?
Her essay on Frank Sinatra is brilliant. I will soon buy this book for my Dady because I'm sure he'd appreciate the insight.
Great review. Wonderfully sums up Vowell's importance.
Peace,
