| GrandmaSandy's Full Review: Talking Chef Magic Kitchen |
I do my Christmas shopping very early for my grand kids. I start to listen around the beginning of September and I am shopping by the middle of October. This is the month where all the toy stores have very big sales.
Our Aaron loves to help in the kitchen. This weekend he helped me make homemade gravy and bake a chicken. This child dragged my kitchen chair to every counter I have. I so wanted to give him his Christmas present early but Grandpa would have killed me.
Sitting in the attic is the Fisher-Price Talking Chef Magic Kitchen. This new gem of a kitchen is not cheap. I looked on the web and some stores are selling it for $129.00. I purchased the kitchen for $69.99 on sale.
It took a little while to assemble but the finished product was worth the time it took us. This play center is very large. Enough room for three kids to play. I am also pleased with the construction of the kitchen.
Features
1. Built in microwave. When you pop open the door a bell rings.
2. Built in phone that rings. It also has an answering machine that will play back messages.
3. Built in two-burner stove. When you turn the knobs you will hear a sizzling noise when the frying pan is on the burner.
4. Built in cookbook. When you turn the pages you will hear ideas and advice.
5. Built in sink. Turn the faucet and the child hears running water.
There is a power switch on the back of the kitchen, On/Off. This will save on the Three C batteries that are needed to operate the kitchen.
More Features
Above the kitchen area is a canopy. This is where you will find the microwave and storage area for all your little ones plates, cups and utensils.
Below the cooking area you will find the refrigerator and oven. The doors to both appliances are made of heavy duty plastic.
Includes Food
The set comes with milk carton, spaghetti, spaghetti box, 2 pieces of bacon, 1 egg shell that cracks open, egg, pancake, banana, apple, green beans, spaghetti & meatballs, meatballs, sauce and cookies.
Utensil's
There is a cookie sheet, frying pan, spatula, 2 plates, 2 forks, 2 knives, 2 spoons, serving fork and 2 cups. You will also find an assortment of labels that have to be attached to the center.
Colors
The kitchen has a few wonderful colors. The main color is beige. The work and cooking surface is purple and the canopy is a light rose color. I loved that they mixed the colors so that little boy’s would not think the center was just for girls. <G>
My daughter is going to purchase one of those shopping carts full of play food so Aaron can make a meal every night. We are then getting a small dishcloth and a towel for him to use to dry the dishes. I already saved an empty Dawn dish soap bottle for pretend.
I was told that this kitchen was a hot item for the holidays. The store only had three left on display. I was told that they started with thirty of them. Shop early and look for those sales.
