Pros:Accurate, features of a full sized tape measure, tiny
The Bottom Line: A miniature size but with the features of a full size. This has really been handy to have while shopping!
For years I have carried around a small portable tape measure in my purse. It has come in very handy on numerous occasions while shopping, but the tape measures were cheaply made, generally one I picked up at a fabric store.

Several months ago while shopping at Lowe's, I passed by a display bin filled with miniature tape measures made by Task Force. I thought they were cute, they were only two bucks, and I replaced the one in my purse with the Task Force 6' Tape Measure.
This is designed like a full sized tape measure, it even has the locking mechanism and a key ring! It's colored black and red with a flat bottom and domed top. It measures roughly 1 3/4" wide and tall.
Just like a full sized tape measure this Task Force miniature has a metal (yet flexible) 1/4" wide yellow colored "tape" with all the markings of a ruler. It even has a small silver metal tab that allows you to attach it to the end of an item when measuring. This came in handy for me when I went shopping for microwaves, I was able to connect it to the back of the ovens and quickly measure the depth. This kind of measuring was not an option with my old miniature tape measures.
The front of the unit even has a black locking mechanism that locks the tape measure in place, making the job even easier ... again a feature of a full sized model.
My husband is amazed by how handy this Task Force 6' measuring tape is! Not only was it handy when shopping for a specific size microwave (and for the record the specs on the store shelves do not match my actual measurements), but it also came in very handy when shopping for artwork.
We recently had our living room painted and it gave me a chance to update my artwork. I knew the size of our walls and the size of the art I wanted to hang up, so having a tape measure with me really helped me when buying wall grille's and pictures.
I wouldn't ever use this as a key chain because it's a bit heavy for that, and it would bang against the interior of my car when my keys were in the ignition. However, if you wanted to use it in this way you certainly could. The five link chain that connects the tape measure to the "O" ring seems very sturdy. In fact, the entire unit seems well made and sturdy.
It takes up very little room in my purse, (it's only 5/8" thick), so it would fit anywhere. In the glove box of a car, a backpack, or even your pocket. I love this little gadget!
