Pros: Nice color, reliable company, replacement blades readily available.
Cons: There are other ring saws that cost less and are more powerful.
If you are looking for a ring saw for stained glass, the Gemini Taurus 3 may be the most marketed one in the stained glass stores but keep looking. Not that there is anything terribly wrong with the Taurus 3 (it will definitely do the job that it is designed to do -- cut glass) but it is more expensive than other ring saws and it is not as good as at least one of the others. For example, the Gryphon Zephyr is more powerful, the Zephyr has a work surface that is twice as big as the Taurus, the throat on the Zephyr is higher, the price is lower on the Zephyr. So why is the Taurus more popular? I suspect it is marketing and the stained glass retailers are obligated by their distributors to purchase a quantity to get a fair price. But keep watching. You will see the Zephyr coming up in popularity as stained glass enthusiasts learn about the differences. The Taurus 3 is attractive with its bright red water tank. It has replacement blades, albeit very expensive, at most stores that carry the Taurus 3. If you are looking to save some money, look for the older version, the Taurus 2. It does the job as well. Before you spend so much money on a ring saw, think about how much you will use it. Many times the ring saw just sits idly waiting for someone to turn it on.
