bscaffidi's Full Review: Taylor Big Baby Acoustic Guitar
First off, I'm a beginner, so take that into consideration. I started off with a Johnson guitar, that I paid about $100 for. I was struggling with it, but I didn't want to start off with an expensive guitar, if I wasn't sure I would stick with it.
After about 3 months, I was hooked and knew I wanted to upgrade. I went into a local music store and started playing various guitars in the $500 range.
I picked up the Big Baby and I immediately fell in love with it. It was light and easy to play. It was somewhat plain looking, but at the same time I was intrigued by it's simple look. It has a rounded back and a very natural wood look to it. It's not all glossy or painted.
When I played it the first time, I suddenly knew what all the talk was about with the Taylor guitars. I compared it to a little higher model Taylor and my ear couldn't tell the difference.
Like anything, I think you should try before you buy. If you're looking for a great guitar at a price that won't wipe out the savings account, try one of these.
If you're a beginner like me, this could make the difference of sticking with it or giving up.
