matto1985's Full Review: Taylor Big Baby Acoustic Guitar
This review is actually a long time in coming. I bought my Big Baby about 5 years ago. It was $350 and came with a gig bag. I picked it up from guitar center because it has such a bright and full sound. I thought it sounded just as good, if not better, than some of the $500-600 guitars. Unfortunately, I didn't take very good care of the girl and now the action is extremely messed up. I think I might pick up another one though since I liked the sound so much and it played really well. The frets are also a little closer together which is nice if you have a little bit smaller hands.
Be careful how you take care of this guitar. It reacts very poorly to moisture and cold. I used to keep my guitar stand near the window and I think the winter cold really warped the wood. The spring humidity probably didn't help the situation either. This resulted in the action becoming ridiculously high. Also, when changing strings be careful about pushing the pegs back in. I had the guitar on my lap while I was doing this and apparently that's is a no-no because the back momentarily caved in. I was able to pop it back out with out any real damage but still. Just be careful.
