A nurse can get a good night's sleep without back pain!

Pros: Comfort, pain relief, vibrating massage, sheets fit well, jumping cat doesn't bother sleeping
Cons: price, TEMPORARY odor (couple of hours), very heavy- have to pay for special delivery
The Bottom Line: Great mattress for back pain! Requires a break-in period...stick with it!!

As a critical care nurse, even at age 28, I tend to have a lot of back pain. Pulling up patients and turning them side to side, most of the pain occurs between my shoulder blades and my lower back. This bed takes the pressure off of any "one" point on my back and disperses it over the entire surface of my backside. I do like the vibrating massage, especially on my tired and swollen legs and back at night. I recently purchased a Tempur-Pedic pillow which is a great accent to this bed. Some people do not like this bed, but I really disagree. I definitely have less back pain and don't feel like I need to spend $60.00 on back massages every couple of weeks!
The one obstacle to overcome with this bed is that it comes with its own base. Therefore you cannot lay the mattresses into a traditional frame. The bed does come with a kit to attach a headboard. I placed the bed into my old queen cherry wood frame, but I had to remove the middle support beams and just build the head board, foot board, and the sides around the entire system. I does work. The Tempur-Pedic bed has a lower profile than a traditional pillow-top mattress. I do not find that it looks bad, just different. Plus you don't need step stools or a spring-board to hop into bed.
I also recommend, probably against the manufacturer, at getting a very thin terry cloth-like mattress pad protector. I purchased one at my mattress store for approximately $60.00 and now I have the piece of mind that my mattress is protected against animal or human accidents.
It has a water protective seal that will protect my investment. I'm really impressed that it isn't hot or bothersome at all. The mattress still conforms to my body and I don't even know its there.
Another thing that people comment on with this bed is the odor. The odor disappeared after airing the bed out for several hours the day of the delivery. It didn't take long to clear. It just smells like industrial foam.
