| kbolton72's Full Review: Tempur-Pedic Adjustable Sleep System |
We had to use the warranty on our last Tempur-Pedic, and I swore it was my last. However, after buying a regular pillowtop mattress on our sleigh bed, I really missed the contour and luxury. My husband and I decided that our wood sleigh bed just did not match our contemporary, upscale upgrade of our home and in our bedroom. We sold it to a friend of his at work, and had to bunk on the couches for a week while we re-decorated the bedroom and went bed window shopping. After much thought and research, I gave Tempur-Pedic another chance. And I am so grateful that I did!
We still had money left from our former return, and we financed the rest and splurged on an entire system, which includes the automatic bed frame, the control panel, the mattresses, and a few pillows to go with it. We gambled on the Celebrity Bed which is very sophisticated and contemporary. It was delivered and set up for us, and it has been a roller coaster ever since!
I am a difficult insomniac. I have been known to just grab a huge pillow, a soft blanket and set up camp on our fluffy couch. I can not sleep flat, on a too-soft mattress or a too-stiff mattress. I have to be propped up, and have enough room to sprawl out or curl up like a cat, but not have the bed too big, otherwise it feels weird to me. On another weird note, I can't sleep in the dark or without the tv on either, so all-around, I am a picky sleeper. My husband is as well, he has to have a fan blowing in his face, and he is the opposite of me, so we were not sure how this was going to work for both of us, because it has a flatbed option, and various levels to choose from. We finally decided on a mid-way, slightly curved, slightly elevated level. It is so awesome, it feels like you are propped up in a Lazy Boy with an ottoman.
With the WallHugger design, you can relax in whatever position you want, with over hundreds to choose from. Once you get in, or you can do this out of bed and then snuggle in, your wireless remote will allow you to move any area of the bed to your comfort level. If you want your back and neck to be elevated, you can move it around until you find the right mode for you. You can then position your middle and bottom and then finally your feet. Myself, I have to be propped up, with the neck area , and angled, the middle curved, with my feet slightly lifted. I sleep on my side usually, so it is like falling asleep in a huge chair that is made of clouds. It is very easy to use, and you may have to fiddle with it for the first few times before you get it right. If you change how you feel comfortable in it, it may take awhile to get it back to that exact spot. The way that the swedish Tempur-Pedic material molds and contours you is like being hugged and swaddled as you sleep.
This is amazing in that it also vibrates with massage on top of all of the other luxury it gives. If you have injuries from accidents, as my husband and I both have, you are supported. You will be comfortable and trouble free. I have never felt so pampered and feel guilty almost that the kids have regular pillowtops! During the day, we usually have it flat, so that I can change the sheets, and make it look pretty with throw pillows and our comforter. It is very Zen.
The system includes the adjustable bed base, from several different beds to choose from, such as Celebrity Bed, Classic Bed, Symphony Bed, Prima Bed and more. Each has it's own height, design, headboard. The system also comes with a wireless remote control to choose your features from, and mattress with the Temur-Pedic design. The mattresses have dust mite and allergy-free, dual air flow designs, which is perfect for my husband who has terrible allergies and asthma. Ours has a cashmere textile and a 13.5" pillowtop without a washable cover. We have a queen that is 60" X 80". Each bed has it's own system, but you will want to research which one works best for you.
This is very expensive...we paid over $5,000.00 minus the previous credit and even though it was financed, it is pretty steep. This is a serious investment. However, if you can fit it into your budget, it is worth every penny. This is great for pregnant women, injury victims, surgery recovery, people with physical impairments, anyone who suffers from soreness, bone conditions, terminally ill or suffering a serious life threatening illness, people who work on their feet all day (carpenters, firefighters, etc).
There is truly nothing on the market right now that compares to the quality, comfort, safety, design, research and creativity than the Tempur-Pedic Adjustable Sleep System.
