Pros: comfort, adjustable, pain relief, no more tossing and turning.
Cons: pricey, takes a long time to get delivered, temporary chemical smell
The Bottom Line: This is the best bed I have ever owned. It is deliciously comfortable, relieves back pain, cured my insomnia...I have become a Tempur-Pedic devotee!

| sleepstarved's Full Review: Tempur-Pedic Adjustable Sleep System |
My husband and I were in search of the perfect mattress and tried every mattress you can imagine, but couldn't find one that we both liked until we came across the Tempur-pedic beds. After trying all of their models, we decided on The Deluxe Bed with the adjustable base. In the store it was heaven...soft yet supportive.
I have suffered with chronic back pain and insomnia for years, not to mention hot flashes (and I'm only in my 30's), so I couldn't wait to get it at home. Our bed was delivered, and we couldn't wait to go to sleep. For the first couple months, I can honestly say both my husband and I wondered if we had made a mistake purchasing this bed since it felt so much harder (firmer) than the store model. In all fairness, the sales lady did warn us that it takes a few months for the bed to get broken in and even suggested that we walk on it to soften it up. We figured, we had a 90 day trial period, so we would give it a fair chance. I can tell you that after a couple of months, the bed did get broken in, and now, I could not imagine being without it! Not only did it help reduce my back pain immensely, I actually sleep through the night now (and no more hot flashes either despite those that said it sleeps hot)! The memory foam material somehow allows your muscles to "let go" so any knots or spasms ease their way out of your body as you rest. The adjustable feature is wonderful as well! Watching TV from bed is a real treat now that we have an adjustable bed. The wireless remote control is easy to use, allows you to easily raise your upper body and lower body to many angles (you can raise your upper body to almost 90 degrees, and also raise your legs up very high). When my back is hurting, I use the adjustable feature to raise my legs up high which takes away the pain completely...no more stuffing pillows under my knees! The memory foam material absorbs motion, so you won't feel your partner if they move or get up. There is also vibration massage feature which my husband loves. I don't care for it much as it's a bit noisy, but it is a nice feature to have. The memory foam material is almost impossible to describe, other than to say it sort of feels like you are floating on a soft bed of fluffy sand. You really do need to try it to experience the sensation.
I would highly recommend this bed to anyone who wants ultimate comfort and a great nights sleep. We almost purchased our bed at Rooms to Go, but luckily, we found it at BrookStone who had a great promotion (free delivery,setup/removal of old bed, two free pillows and one year no-interest financing which helped a lot as this is not an inexpensive bed). We would say, try it, buy it, break it in, and sleep in bliss!
