Pros: Bed is delivered and "set up" by delivery people.
Cons: Sleeping on a rock would have been much more comfortable.
The Bottom Line: A huge thumbs down for this mattress.

| josie14's Full Review: Tempur-Pedic Swedish Mattress |
This bed is obviously not for everyone. Purchased the queen (mattress only), for a platform bed. On the first night, I awoke with numbness in both arms and hands. Needless to say, I was a tad concerned but I chalked it up to sleeping in a strange position. On the second night, I awoke first with shooting pains in my neck, followed by numbness in one arm and pain in the other. The next morning, I called Tempurpedic to return the bed.
The return process was a bit of a pain. I waited on the phone for over an hour to speak to a "support specialist." Eventually they put me into someone's voice mail. The call was returned two days later. (Not what I'd call good customer service.) Once I got through, I was asked why I was returning the bed. When I told the operator, he asked how much I weigh. I thought that was a bit of a strange question, until he explained that they've had reports of "difficulties" from some people who weigh 110 pounds or less. Since I weigh about 120 pounds, this didn't seem to fit, but he continued on to say that they never recommend this bed for children because they don't weigh enough to get the bed's full support. Again, I thought that odd since the whole concept behind this viscoelastic foam bed is that it is supposed to support everyone according to hi/her individual weight.
In addition, I learned from this operator that cool rooms (under 70 degrees) cause the bed to become even harder! Since I keep my room at about 62 degrees for sleeping, that was not okay. Finally, he told me that some people who suffer from fibromyalgia have also reported great pain with the mattress. I was actually surprised the guy told me so much about others' complaints, but I certainly believe him, having experienced the pain firsthand.
When the delivery/pickup folks finally arrived, 2 weeks later, they told me that I was number 2 on a list of 5 other Tempurpedic mattresses they were picking up just in that one day. The man rolled his eyes and said it often feels like they take back more Temp. mattresses than they deliver. I thought that was rather telling. I was obviously not the only one who was unhappy with the bed.
There is a happy ending to my mattress sage. I purchased a Select Comfort/Sleep Number bed and couldn't be happier. There is no "breaking in" period for the mattress. Just comfort and plain ol' great sleep from day one. No numbness, no shooting pain. What a concept! I couldn't be happier.
