| sheann26's Full Review: Tetrafin Flake Food |
I used to have an aquarium full of fish, however over the years we had to get rid of it. I recently had the pleasure of taking care of a friend's goldfish. She was going out of state for the summer. She asked me if I would keep her two goldfish at my house. I quickly agreed, because I thought it would be fun for a couple of months. I missed having an aquarium, so I was looking forward to it.
She brought over the small aquarium along with a little pump for the bowl and the food. It had been years since I had actually had to feed any fish, so I could not remember the procedure. She told me to put a small pinch in the morning and in the evening. The brand was TetraFin Goldfish Flakes. I noticed that it was a small container, but was told that it would go a long way.
I was told that the fish would probably not live very much longer. She had actually gotten them at a fair. I could remember playing games at the school carnival or the rodeo and winning a little bag with a goldfish or two in it. I also remembered that they never lasted, so I thought the same about these fish. I told her that I would feed them and try to keep them alive as long as possible.
Well, much to everyone's surprise, these fish lived the whole three months! I fed them like I was told to do. A very small pinch in the morning and in the evening. The fish not only lived they also grew to be pretty large. They were just two small fish when she brought them over and were ready for a new bigger aquarium when she picked them up. She could not believe the fish.
She wondered what I had done. Well nothing besides feeding them. I am not sure if TetraFin is the reason behind the fish prospering so much, but I think that it just might be. The fish seemed to love this food. I would drop a pinch in their aquarium while getting ready for work. They would quickly eat it up before I was finished getting ready. The food comes in bright, very thin, multi-colored flakes. A small pinch does not seem like much, but is plenty to last the fish for the day. In fact, in the evening it would take the fish a little longer to eat it all. However, they always ate it up.
There is one drawback to TetraFin. It made the water pretty cloudy. I did not consider this to be a major problem. I would clean out the aquarium every other week. I wondered why it kept getting so cloudy and realized that it had to be the food. I really did not mind considering the fish really enjoyed the food and it seemed to do wonders for them.
I have never thought that goldfish were anything particularly spectacular. However, I watched these fish grow from small fish into large, bright-colored fish. I noticed a big change in size, color, and overall looks throughout the three months. I give a lot of praise to the food, so I would highly recommend TetraFin to anyone with goldfish. You should notice a big change in your fish!
