A Bedtime Story For Many Nights

Written: Apr 27 '01
Pros:This is a well compiled book.
Cons:Non that I can find.
The Bottom Line: My final recommendation is you get the book. It is quality inside and out.

Both of my children are in love with this book. I feel I got more than my money's worth on this great find. Some of my favorite kindergarten stories are in there that I have not heard since kindergarten!

The book is sturdy , fully illustrated , and comes with a paper book cover over it. If you loose the cover or it gets torn ( Like ME ) the actual book itself looks exactly the same. The book has a gloss coat that can be wiped for dusting or accidents.

There are forty four stories in this book. I have read them all and they are all great. The book contains 308 pages of which 297 actually have a story on. There are color coded book symbols at the bottom of each page That tells you the age group for what children will enjoy the story. The red book symbol is for the youngest child. These books are often called " see and say " books. There are eight of these " red " stories in this book. The blue book symbol is the next step up and more for the preschool age child. There are 19 stories that fall in this category. The green book symbol is your last symbol and is found to be for children five years and older. These stories require a good attention span. There are 17 stories in the green book age group.

Keep in mind that these stories are actually books put into one large book. If you balk at the high price of this book you really are getting a good deal because you are actually getting forty four books in one. Something you might try is a book club. I bought this book for only $0.99 plus shipping.

The stories in this book are familiar classics and award winners. You will not find any mediocre reading here.

For example:

Madeline-by Ludwig Bemelmans

Swimmy-by Leo LionniAlexander and the Terrible , Horrible , No Good , Very Bad Day-by Judith Viorst

Stellaluna-by Janell Cannon ( A favorite of mine )
