The Bottom Line: My Green Earth Pan makes the most amazing eggs, pancakes, omelets, and chops.  It cooks evenly, with less fat, in half the time, and on a medium heat.

I can't remember how many non-stick frying pans I have bought in the past, that have stuck, and then thrown away.  The last set of 3, I ended up giving them away to the Salvation Army, because when I put them on my ceramic cooker top, the bottoms were rounded, and I couldn't get an even temperature on them.

When I received my Green Earth Pan by Ozeri, I couldn't wait to get it out of the box.  I looked at the shape of it, and it sat perfectly flat, and I was excited.  Next I looked into the pan, and the coating looked different to any I had seen before.  I lifted the pan and it was heavy.  I then turned it over, and it has a circle of metal on the bottom, which I read was 'a magnetized bottom'.

After my inspection, I then read the leaflet, and the packaging.

Before I used the pan I cleaned it with a sponge.  I then preconditioned the inside of the green pan with a little olive oil.  Now I was ready to try my new pan out.

I have the 8 inch (20 cm.) size.  Whenever I make omelets they either stick, or I have to use too much oil, and then pat them dry before eating them.  So I put a tiny amount of olive oil in the pan, turned the heat under it to halfway, and allowed the pan to heat up.  I whisked up my eggs, added shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, a little milk, and some butter, and poured it into the pan.

I used a plastic spatula, and lifted the sides of the eggs.  They came away easily.  I then allowed the runny egg to move around, until it was almost set, and the underneath was brown.  I then got a plate, turned the pan over, and the omelet slid out.  I added a tiny amount of olive oil, put it back on the heat, and then slid the omlette back in for 30 seconds.  I had a perfect omelet.

I allowed the pan to cool down, and then hand washed it.  I carefully dried it with a tea towel.

When I make pancakes I do them in a small frying pan.  Using the Green Earth Pan my pancakes cooked twice as quick as normal, and were thicker too.  I also liked the fact, that I used less than half of the olive oil, I normally coat the pan with.  They tasted just as good as always.

Scrambled eggs are a breeze.  I beat up my eggs with a little milk.  Put a knob of butter in the pan, leave it on medium heat.  When the butter starts to sizzle I pour the mixture in, and the stir it all the time.  The eggs come out soft, fluffy, and perfect every time.  There is no way I would use any other pan for them.

I read that the pan can be put in the oven, and I wanted to see how the handle would stand the heat.  I made chops, and started them on the cooker top, so that the juices were sealed in them, and then put them in the oven to finish off.  Really tasty chops, and only one pan to clean.  When I say clean, all I have to do it let it cool, and wipe the inside.  Nothing sticks to it.

A little about the pan from their website:

"Utilizes GREBLON ceramic - an ultra-safe ceramic coating from Germany which is 100% PTFE and PFOA free (no heavy metals or chemicals). Innovative textured pan surface delivers unprecedented non-stick performance without releasing harmful fumes or toxins at high temperatures. Features a scratch-resistant 100 percent ceramic coating that is super easy to clean. Made out of durable heavy-gauge pure aluminum with no heavy metals or harmful chemicals. Boasts a comfortable heat resistant silicon coated handle, and a magnetized induction stove safe base for rapid heat transfer."

I love that this is not only a great frying pan, but it is free of the above mentioned chemicals.  Also that it is so strong and durable, it will do away with many of my other pans, and I won't need to be replacing it on a regular basis.  Buy it once, and you have it for keeps.

I have been using the Green Earth Pan almost everyday, and I even took it to my timeshare, as I have a full kitchen there.  I cook breakfast, and we eat our other meals out.  I didn't want to use a regular frying pan there, that would stick, and ruin my food.

I love to cook, and using half the heat, quicker cooking time, and less butter and fat, make this a great product.  This pan does have a limited lifetime warranty, but that only stands if you read the instructions, and take care of it.  No high temperatures, no metal spoons, spatulas, etc.  Hand washing the pan.

I am so happy with it that I am thinking about buying the 12 inch.  It also comes in a 10 inch too.

I have recently found out that there is a lid for it, and that will make my frying pan an even better product.

Updated March 21st, 2012.

Since writing this review I now how the lid for it.  It fits tight and snug.  It is clear, so that you can see the food cooking inside the pan.  It has a steam outlet hole, which means that you don't have to tilt the lid to allow the steam to come out.  This also helps to prevent it from boiling over.

The lid has an elegant knob/handle that is black.  It stays cold while the food is cooking.

The lid is also safe to go into the oven, so you can continue cooking your food in the one pan.  It saves on washing dishes.  The oven temperature can be up to 392 F.

The pan looked great, but now that it has the matching lid, it is a perfect cooking pan for all occasions.

I was sent the Green Earth Pan by Ozeri for my personal use. I was under no contract, or obligation to write a review, or to write a favorable one if I chose to write one.
