Pros: price, location, atmosphere, rooms
Cons: no pool, a/c wasn't real strong, but will assume it was a one-room glitch
The Bottom Line: great place overall... for myself it has everything. Seems to cater to the 30-something crowd that knows how to play but without the silver spoons.

This place is great on many levels. Can't beat the location. The rooms are huge, and mine was quiet (facing Flamingo). I could faintly hear the Bally's sign next door, but it wasn't as loud as I'd read online. I even could see the Bellagio fountain show from my room. There is NO pool, but I was there in January anyway. Its owned by the same company that runs the Orleans... so imagine similar room quality (but a MUCH bettor location if you want ot be on the strip). The thermostat in my unit was not really working, but I'll assume that was a one room glitch. There's no marble counters,etc... just the basics done well. Separate sink and shower areas are a big plus with 2 or more people. Check-in is easy... only 200 rooms.
Atmosphere-wise this place is great for people who like more the old Vegas feel over the 'upscale' places around it - without being a dump. There was a great band playing all night. There's a great feel to the place without being at all pretentious. Sure its not huge and it is smokey... but name a casino that isn't. It feels like a downtown casino but without being trashy. There were a large number of $10 tables on the weekends and mostly $5 during the week. There aren't as many slots here as most casinos (which was fine with me). The dealers were all friendly and would help out as much as they could (when requested).
I didn't eat there, but the restaurants seemed a little more upscale than the rest of the place.
