I am reviewing The Belly Burner, which some actually think works. I will start with my bottom line. I believe 100% that people who have lost weight when using The Belly Burner do so because they cannot just sit on the couch with this on and lose weight. It will "only work" if you are working out in some way. Since this might be the start of you getting healthy you may also eat less - thus part of the weight loss.

Note that you can buy this in Walgreens, which is what I did. You'll get a nutrition plan and an offer to buy a DVD. You can find it for the same price online but you'll pay more for it at the website.
What is the Belly Burner?
Essentially this gizmo is a large neoprene belt with Velcro so I could attach it around my waist. It is supposed to increase my core temperature and that would take away inches. For starters you cannot spot reduce. In order to reduce belly fat you have to reduce your overall fat. 90% of the fat on your body is due to the food you eat not how many crunches you do.
In any case you may have seen The Belly Burner on television. Bobby Waldron is the celebrity trainer who hawks this on television...sigh. You may be thinking that you lose weight by going into a sauna every day so The Belly Burner should work. You lose water - that's all and as soon as you drink a glass or two of water your weight will come back. Sure it might increase your metabolic rate and speed up the calorie burning process but you have worked out and worked up a sweat. Have you then gotten on a scale? What have you seen?
I wore The Belly Burner at home since we have a home gym. I do a variety of exercises- the elliptical machine, weights, yoga, and use DVDs. I found the Belly Burner to be uncomfortable when stretching and bending so for me it was only something I could wear on the elliptical machine.
If I never worked out and spent money on this then I might be more prone to get on my elliptical. It might act as a motivator but it doesn't act as a weight loss product. That is truly hype although keeping a food journal is not.
About the Belly Burner
This belt is a one-size fits most going as high as 50 inches. It comes in medium and large. If your waist is that large and even if it isn't please talk with a doctor before starting any new exercise program.
Although The Belly Burner is said to support the back, I don't believe this should be used as a weight belt. In fact I am not in favor of using a weight belt unless you are a competitive body builder and know what you are doing. There are pros and cons to these belts.
There has been no research on The Belly Burner showing that my core muscle temperature increased with the belt on. Having said that I thought I felt some heat but anything around my waist made of this material will make me sweat. It is the same reason my hands are soaked after wearing kickboxing gloves but my hands aren't any thinner.
Jo's Final Thoughts:
Our bodies are made up of a lot of water. The heat you will feel makes you sweat. This lack of water is what you will call weight loss and is temporary. I didn't lose any weight; I didn't lose any fat. You want to make sure if you buy this that you drink a lot of water so you won't get dehydrated.
To make sure I was writing an accurate review and not just making up the fact that I think this is a scam and that maybe it just didn't work for me I called my daughter. My daughter is a medical doctor who (probably while trying to take a nap in the on-call room) has seen the Belly Burner on television and told me "It doesn't work." Ok so she doesn't have much time to write more than a few words but I trust her more than I trust celebrity trainers and she corroborated my findings.
