This is a great mask from The Body Shop! Not only does the clay deep clean your skin, but the dried corn meal exfoliates away dead skin cells, so you get two benefits from one product!
When you first put this mask on it will tingle, and then it feels very cool. The clay deep cleans the pores and pulls away the impurities in your pores. Once it dries I dampen the mask again and scrub with it to remove any dead skin. Then once I rinse it away my skin is smooth and feels very clean.
I have a lot of sensitivities even though my skin is combination, and this product does not irritate my skin at all.
The sales person at The Body Shop also told me the story about where the corn comes from. It is an ingredient they get from one of their community trade partners. They helped develop an industry on a reservation in New Mexico where there was almost 100% unemployment. They loaned the people money to set up a processing plant for the blue corn they already grew. The people paid off the loan in less than one year and are now completely self sufficient. The Body Shop is only one of their clients and they supply blue corn for other products for other companies. It's neat to know that products you buy from a huge company like The Body Shop help smaller communities.
So not only do you get a great product, you're helping out smaller economies.
