| Darkmistress's Full Review: The Body Shop New Sku Tea Tree Oil Face Mask |
I have green stuff on my face. It's The Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil Face Mask and it is marvelous stuff. I discovered it when I arrived at my last job here in Korea. The previous teacher had been a cleanser junkie and the bathroom cupboard was fairly bursting with half empty bottles, tubes and tubs. A lot of the stuff I tried and didn't care for, but the Tea Tree Oil Face Mask I loved. I loved it so much that I was willing to spring for my very own container when we arrived back in Seoul for our recent contract. I was so hooked on the stuff that I searched through several Body Shops looking for it.
Today, I decided I needed a round because I'm starting to break out. Normally, I have very good skin, but the air in Seoul is bad and the stress is amazing. The air has also been rather dry and it's making my fine wrinkles not so fine.
I smeared it on a few minutes ago, before I commenced writing this review and after I changed into a button up shirt. I like to shower to get it off because it's pretty difficult to remove. It's very thick and I usually end up with it in my hair. It also ends up on clothing if you have something on that you have to pull over your head. It's just as hard to get off clothing as it is off your skin and it is bright green. I haven't had it stain any clothing yet, but I always wash it off immediately.
It takes about a tablespoon and a half to cover my whole face with a good coating. At first it feels cool in a minty way. After a few minutes it starts to warm up in the trouble spots right around the sides of my nose and, tonight, my forehead. As I said, the stress has been amazing.
In a few minutes, I'll take a shower and rinse it off. It'll take a couple of minutes under running water to get it all off (and then I might find some in the hair around my temples.) My skin will feel significantly softer. My husband will be touching my face more than normal. Tomorrow people will be telling me I must have had a very restful weekend. Best of all, this will last for a while.
According to Epinions it's no longer available, but I have been able to find it in Seoul so I suggest you ask. And if they are phasing it out I suggest you hunt down as many containers as you can and start a letter writing campaign to the Body Shop to being it back. This stuff is as close to miracle working as I have encountered. I am a cheap, cheap person and if I am willing to cough up $25 for this stuff, it must be good. Of course I don't use it once a week as recommended. I use it maybe once a month, but I do have naturally good skin. If you have trouble with your skin, you might need to use it more often, but at least you can be sure it will work. You're supposed to leave it on for only 15 minutes, but I've found that to be flexible too. But you definitely don't want this stuff in your eyes. I haven't done it myself, but based on how it feels on my skin I imagine it would hurt like heck in your eyes.
