The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blemish Stick: Buh Bye Blemish!

Written: Apr 07 '04
Pros:Works fast, doesn't dry and is reasonably priced!
Cons:Might not work for people with extremely sensitive or extremely acned skin.
The Bottom Line: IT FREAKIN' WORKS and only for $6!

Ok, so if you’ve read any of my reviews, you know that I have acne prone skin, and I’ve been battling it for years. Having normal to dry skin doesn’t help matters either.

Well, I’ve been trying some of The Body Shop products and found a great aid in my fight against blemished skin.

The Product:
Tea Tree Blemish Stick is a product containing Tea Tree Oil that helps aid in healing blemishes. Tea Tree Oil is also called Melaluca and is a natural product that has astringent, disinfecting and antibacterial properties and has been found to help kill the germs and bacteria that cause most acne. This blemish stick also contains allentoin which is an anti-irritant.

It comes in a tube with a top that unscrews much like you’d unscrew a lipgloss tube, and it has an actual lipgloss applicator in it. You spot treat with the applicator, and the small tube is very portable.

You can purchase a Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Stick from a brick and mortar Body Shop, or you can purchase one from a Body Shop at Home consultant for around $6.00.

My Experience:
I have this ever-loving breakout I get continually between my eyebrows on my forehead. I think I’ve narrowed it down to the cause. I ‘think’ when I get my brows waxed, and my hair grows back, it causes ingrown hairs, which in turn cause bacteria, which in turn cause my blasted acne.

I’ve been using skin care products from The Body Shop for over six months now and have had great success other than this one area on my face. So I tried out the Tea Tree Blemish Stick on a whim to see if it would help with a recent flare up that I was having that wouldn’t go away.

BY GEORGE!

It freakin’ worked! I’m still battling the flair up, but it’s mostly gone! Upon first application my patch of acne didn’t feel like it was on fire any more. It really did help with the irritation I was having. It also started to heal my patch quickly. Within a week the acne was definitely gone. I still have redness there because the patch is still in the healing process, but I have no more clogged pores and no more pimples there.

This mild scented gel is easy to apply with the applicator tool, and if you wanted to apply it sever times a day The Body Shop makes it easy because the gel dries to an invisible matte, yet stays on your blemish to help with ultimate healing.

I put it on before bed, and again before I apply my makeup for the day. I’ve not had a problem with seeing it under my makeup at all.

One other really positive aspect of this Blemish Stick is that it doesn’t cause a scab over the wound. I know when I’ve used spot treatments before which contain benzoyl peroxide or some other chemicals in them I get a rough, dry, scabby mess over the blemish. Not with The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Stick! As my blemish patch healed, I never had a nasty thick dry scab over the wound. The blemish stayed moisturizes and flat, which was a nice benefit in my opinion. It’s always so hard to cover up a break out with makeup because the blemish is all bumpy and dry and scabby. I had a very easy time covering up my nasty patch of misery after using the Blemish Stick.

And for only $6 it’s a STEAL!
