| sliznyak2's Full Review: The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf |
First, I thought that this is another one of those coffee shops around town. Then, I found out it is a chain. Then I tried it and I fell in love with it. After trying many other coffee brands and drinks in different shops in Phoenix metropolitan area, I have to say that Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf might just be the best coffee shop in town.
I came from the Seattle where there are no locations of Coffee Bean & Tea. This kind of competition is not welcome in the home of Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee. I was curious to try it and once I did, I realized that it is one of the best coffee shops around. When it comes to comparing it to Starbucks, it is hard to do that. This is more of a specialty shop and you do not go here to buy yourself a cup of drip coffee. Neither will it top Starbucks in their coffee lattes or mochas. This is the place to try those specialty drinks, tea lattes and exotic specialty rare teas that are not available elsewhere.
The restaurant appears to be very clean and well-maintained. The bathrooms and floors are very clean. Counters and furniture are being wiped and cleaned periodically. There are some really nice chairs and even a fireplace in the restaurant, even a couch, more than you usually get in a traditional coffee shop. It is well decorated and designed and has a very charming, welcoming and comforting atmosphere inside. Just grab a drink, sit down on the soft, leather chair and grab some latest newspapers on the table to read or perhaps use your notebook with complimentary Wi-Fi access, something that many other shops would not offer yet.
Moroccan Mint Tea Latte is one of my favorite drinks. Another excellent choice is a one of a kind Blueberry Pomegranate Frappuccino. The enormously large menu of Coffee Beat & Tea Leaf is diverse and covers drinks, mixes and teas from all over the world. As with other gourmet coffee shops, this one offers hot and cold drinks, in three different sizes, ranging from a small to a large. The flavor and quality of drinks is outstanding. The catch is that most exotic curious drinks will cost over $4 and this is one coffee shops that tops the price for drinks over what the usually regarded as expensive Starbucks charges for their drinks. Also, there is a lack of variety when it comes to snacks and scones. However, I recommend this shop for one simple reason: unique flavors and blends to satisfy anyone's taste buds.
