The Bottom Line: Incredible product-really crummy secondary support!

| slpaok's Full Review: The Endless Pool |
I've had my eye on an endless pool for awhile so when one was advertised for sale locally I jumped on the opportunity! The pool was just over 1 year old and had about $600 in 'extra's including a swim speed guage, swim mirror, and additional customized size [8 x 14 interior area]. The original total cost was just above $21,000 including the price of a concrete slab, electrical wiring etc... My cost was 1/2 that plus concrete pad, electrical [220] wiring etc..
The endless pool is supposedly able to be 'easily relocated' and installed by two average adults or a private pool contractor will "supposedly" be glad to install for a fee. At least in my town there wasn't a single pool contractor willing to install it since they don't sell it and it would require a 'learning curve' for them [there is about 3-4 hours of installation video to be watched]. We called over 20 dealers. The hydrolic unit is also something most pool contractors don't deal with regularly...so we found ourselves left to do it alone. Not impossible but not "easy" either.
Depending upon how you install the pool the surrounding area and other costs can also add up quite a bit. In our case we plan on moving so opted for an above ground placement on concrete pad....roughly 1k. You must have 220 electrical wiring available which can require an electricians service, shipping cost on the original delivery ran just under 1k and the pool with a few extra's and larger than average size originally cost about 21k.
Our next shock came when we called to find out a few specifics. Customer support had excellent records about our pool and were able to send us installation and maintenance video's [which you will absolutely need!]. When we called the 1-800 number listed on the literature and web site we told them we were moving the pool and gave the original owners name. The endless pool people keep full records on the pool and put it in our name at that point-also promising to send literature and specifics about the pool to help with the reinstallation. We finally received the video's but never received the documtation. Thankfully the original owner had kept the book and quite a bit of paperwork that went with it. We then were told that about $600 of new parts would also be required since they can't be re-used if the pool is moved....that was fine but it would have been nice to know up front. What really got on our nerves was the $3 per Minute charge added to our account to speak to a customer service representative in order to ORDER THE PARTS!!! We had been speaking for quite awhile on what had originally been a 1-800 number before we were even told about the charge. What really began to become a problem was that the list of parts etc to be faxed or emailed never arrived--requiring us to keep calling! All additional customer support is billed at $3 per minute--INCLUDING YOUR ATTEMPT TO ORDER PARTS!!!
I personally don't think the pool is very attractive - especially in an above ground installation. In ground installation is much more pleasing especially with the compact size. I also find it to be somewhat noisey and I'm still in the VERY IRRITATED stage with the $3 per minute charge required to ORDER parts. Having said that--it's a terrific pool and worth every penny or irritation--just be prepared to have a hassle if you relocate this pool and don't change the 'ownership' or 'title' of the pool should you want to give it/sell/buy to family or friends!!
