Always happy to share the love of a good cookbook, although I can empathize about the wallet. ;}
Yeah, I'd use the toaster oven too. And if I didn't have a toaster oven, I'd probably go buy some cookies at the store.

The book also has a baked beans and franks recipe in the kids' favorites section that we're thinking of making this weekend. ;)
And thank you! I really enjoy doing cookbook reviews. I think they're challenging in a way that some other sorts of reviews aren't. It's challenging to find a unifying theme to the ups and downs of a cookbook. You can't just say the characters are weak, or the plot has holes in it. You have to make enough of the recipes to get a sense for the recipes' overall strengths and weaknesses, which is harder, I think.
And it isn't something you can find just by looking through the cookbook--you really have to make the recipes and pay attention to any commonalities in how they come out. It's sort of like looking at a novel's parts out of order and trying to reverse-engineer the story. If that makes sense.

Awesome review (Reply to this comment)

Now I have to buy another cookbook! Thanks (from my stomach but not from my wallet...)
I have to add that if my oven weren't working, I'd make small batches of cookies in my toaster oven... using my crockpot would never occur to me. That's the strangest idea I've heard recently...
