The Bottom Line: After trying everything, we were thrilled to find this teething ring. It is versatile, durable, and very helpful with teething.

| Caprig's Full Review: The First Years Cool Triangle Teether |
I was sitting in the living room the other day trying to relax. Our little adventurous toddler roamed about seeking what she could devour, when suddenly I noticed something really odd. It was quiet. In the background of this eerie silence I heard a disturbing sound.
Crunch, crunch, crunch....
I was confused. I had heard that sound before, but could not identify it. It was tugging at the edges of my mind, yet, it seemed so familiar......
Suddenly it hit me.
TERMITES!!!!!
I began to panic. I jumped up from the couch (so much for relaxing) and slammed my head up to the wall. The sound stopped. Surely those stinking creatures were in there. After all, they are smart. They KNEW I was listening to them. They KNEW their end was near.
I stayed in place quietly. TWO could play this game. I was a tenacious as a bulldog. I would not move until they revealed their exact position.
After what seemed to be an eternity, I heard it again. That soft little sound .
Crunch, crunch, crunch.
Hmmmm. They seemed to have rearranged their position. Boy, these little demons were smart. I would show them. The jig was about up.
Carefully and quietly I slid my ear along the wall.
The sound was getting closer. AHA! I was about to uncover their plot to destroy my house. The sound was getting louder and louder.
CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH
I was sneaking OH so carefully into the perfect position when I noticed that something was in my way.
Not wanting to blow my cover, I slowly turned my head to see what obstacle was thrown across my path.
I looked down into the big round eyes of my 20 month old daughter who was fascinated at her idiot mother running around the room with her head glued to the wall. She was crunching slowly on the blue teething triangle from the freezer as she watched me expecting me to go on with my entertaining production.
I actually felt the blood rise in my face- I must have been VERY red, yet I doubt my little audience even noticed as she munched away happily on her teething triangle.
WE TRIED MANY
The First Years Teething Triangle was one of a long line of teething rings and contraptions that we purchased for our unhappy teething little girl. Our son never showed any signs of teething when he was little, and our daughter is the complete opposite.
Cool rings were not good for her. We needed something that was industrial strength for her determined jaws to chew on without causing a leak or puncture.
WHAT IS THIS TEETHING RING LIKE?
This ring is a very nice teether. It is a beautiful marine blue color plastic that is thicker than any of the other teethers that we have tried for our baby. It is kind of like a triangle donut, if you can imagine that. (actually, just look at the picture, if you can't (grin)) It is filled with sterile water (so they say) in case that is something that concerns you should the baby succeed in chewing through the teether. The surface of the triangle teething part has several concentric ridges on it for massaging sore gums and helping to get those teeth to break through.
There is a white plastic handle that is hard plastic. Little hands fit perfectly in it and it is good to keep the cold away from them should that be a concern for you as well. The handle is not fused to the teething triangle, but is moveable somewhat. Our daughter has put some chewing mileage on that too.
IDEAS FOR USE OF THIS TEETHING RING
It is also good for hooking into a stroller with a big plastic hook or similar contraption so that you always know where it is. Unfortunately, we always need it frozen, so we do not take it too many places. If your baby does not want it so cold, it is a great teether to take with you.
VERSATILE
You can put this teether in the freezer or the refrigerator. That is the best feature in my opinion. Our daughter gets into so much pain with teething, that a cool teether does very little for her. She needs it frozen as she has a very tough bite.
DURABLE
We have used this teether since she was 3 months old, and she is 20 months now. The teether is still in great shape. And as you can see from my little story above, she really CHEWS on it.
CLOSING COMMENTS
We like the First Years Teething Triangle best of all of the teethers that we have tried (and we have a whole collection in the freezer) and our daughter likes it too. Since most children's pain relievers do not work on her, it is a nice help in her times of pain.
