blackelve's Full Review: Jack Ketchum and Stephen King - The Girl Next Door

Author: Jack Ketchum
Original Published Date: 1989

The Girl Next Door is a highly disturbing book that will keep the reader turning pages till the very end. Graphic, bone-chilling and suspense are the three ingredients that makes this novel into the cult-classic in the horror genre today. If the reader can find the original paperback with its tacky skeleton cheerleader on it, I salute you. It is hard to come by, and I found my copy by pure luck....tucked in the back of my other classic horror 80's books.

David is brought into a world of torture, abuse and eventually death when Susan and Meg move into his friends home after their parents death. He doesn't fully understand the anger that these two girls bring into his own personal life, but soon learns when it turns on him.
How does one really describe a book like this. The story is beyond the imagination of even this horror author. But I can summarize on the characters, settings and above you already got the plot.

I highly recommend this book. If you have not read a Ketchum novel, then it is about high time. He is one of the most disturbing authors out there today, and this book is proof.
Not recommend for teens. Very graphic via sexual torture.
A teenage girl is held captive and brutally tortured by neighborhood children. Based on a true story, this shocking novel reveals the depravity of whi...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
