Terry Pratchett - The Last Continent: A Novel of Discworld

Ahh, Discworld. From incompetent wizards to a socially awkward Death, Discworld manages to make sense while not making sense, to make the most outlandish characters and situations seem almost plausible, to mock the real world with an imaginary world. Discworld is the peak of comedic literature, and The Last Continent is a prime example of this.


The basis of The Last Continent is that Rincewind, the world's most cowardly wizard, has appeared on the continent of Fourecks, so called  because no one knows the proper name and XXXX is to long to use in regular conversation. What results is an adventure through space, time, and windows featuring the usual cast of bizarre characters and even more bizarre predicaments. Of course, there will be numerous pop culture references as well, all woven together with everything else to form a beautiful satire.


I would elaborate more, but the story is meant to be read, not put into just a few words. If you see this book, buy it. It will be well worth the time you spend reading it. The only problems I can foresee is that you will want to buy ever other book Terry Pratchett has ever written. Which is only natural, after all, Pratchett is a genius.
