The last continent is just what you'd expect from Terry Pratchett - master of the literary footnote. Its all there the usual cast of wizards, dwarves, gods, odd animals and Sheilas in drag.

In this book Pratchett brings Australia into the Discworld realm. Rincewind and the luggage are stuck in the outback with barely a beer to quench their thirst.

Pratchett manages to link brewing,quantum theory, relativity, Pricilla Queen of the Desert, Ned Kelly, genetic engineering, mateship and she'll be right in his inimitable fashion ... and oddly enough it all seems to make some sort of sense at least while you're reading the book. And what more can a writer ask than the willing suspension of disbelief while the reader enjoys the ride.
