The Melting Pot is a chain restaurant for fondue cooking. It is an experience that I recommend everyone to try. My first experience was in 1992 at the St. Petersburg, FL location. I have been hooked since.
The Melting Pot offers a large variety of fondue cooking. For the ultimate experience they offer a combination meal that is a 4 course meal. You start off with a choice of Cheese Fondue. They give you raw veggies, apples and multiple flavors of bread for dipping. It is easy to fill up on this because it is so good but try to remember that a lot of food is still waiting to be served.
The waiter/waitress brings the next course of salad. You have multiple choices of salads and each one is very tasty.
The main course uses either a broth or oil - I would recommend the broth for flavor and it's healthier. The one thing to remember about cooking fondue style is to not touch the raw food with anything but the fondue fork. That way, you don't run the risk of potential food poisoning later (like from uncooked chicken). Vegetables are cooked in the same pot and at the same time. Just be sure to not overcook the seafood or undercook the chicken :-)
Dessert is the best part - white or dark chocolate fondue with fruits, cake, and other sweet dipables. Despite being full from the slow, multicourse meal, dessert is a must. I would recommend the white chocolate - very tasty - on bananas, strawberries, or cheesecake.
All told, the Melting Pot is an evening experience and is well worth trying.
