Pros:The woman are the topic, fanasy elements
Cons:predjudice against christians, not as well written as it could be
The Bottom Line: Characters can be weak and dissapointing, not very strong writing on a subject thats already layed out.
I'm about half way through the book, frankly i'm dissapointed. I expected it to be a lot better from the reviews i've read and recieved from my friends. I hardly expect it to improve much at this point. The writing can be interesting, but it is often rather tepid, the idea's the author tries to portray don't stay with you like they do in some books. Sometimes the idea's can be downright shallow, the book is also easy reading it provides no challange. A lot of time is spent in the development of the female characters which i consider a good change for once, but characters sometimes their actions are hypocritical to the characteristics that have been implied to them. The author (Marion Zimmer Bradley) wrote a book much longer then she seems to have the ability to hold together.
