Well worth it

Pros:Location, price, service, and my wife's favorite... clean
Cons:Rooms are bit small, but comparable to many other NYC hotels
The Bottom Line: The service was excellent, the location was great, high-end personal care products in rooms. Great value for the money.
My wife and I live in Connecticut and have both been to New York City many times. This past Thanksgiving we decided to take the train in and stay a couple days for the parade. My mother and her boyfriend came with us. We checked prices at some of our usual favorite hotels near Times Square, however they were outrageous. We were most concerned with location. My wife did some research and we ended up at the Muse. She booked the four of us in two separate rooms through Expedia.com without incident and got a great price... $189.00 each room per night.
The Arrival:
We took the train down to the city from Connecticut and a cab to the hotel. Door service was attentive and prompt. Check-in was a breeze and the staff were all good spirited and helpful.
The Room:
The room was fairly small but average for the city. It was quite clean and had a marble bathroom with a full bath, including a shower and tub. The bathroom was average size for a city hotel with a large mirror above the sink. The towels were of moderate size and softness. My wife and my mother both loved the personal care products in the bathroom which included almond exfoliating soap and hair products by Philosophy. We had a queen feather bed and a good size television with your standard network, HBO, pay-per-view option cable package. There was a small closet and a few drawers for storage. I believe there was an iron and an ironing board. The room had a desk and a chair as well. We did not use the mini-bar (we buy our own soda, snacks etc... at the drug store on 7th ave) so I cannot comment on that. There are ice machines available. Room service was offered but there are so many good restaurants in the city that it is silly to eat in unless you're sick.
Amenities:
We did not make use of any of the hotel services such as the hotel restaurant, bar or gym.
Location:
The location is great. It is a half a block from Times Square, 1.5-2 blocks from 5th Ave. and about 11 blocks from central park. This is a superb location if you are going to a Broadway show as nearly all of the major theatres are nearby. The TKTS discount ticket booth is in Times Square if you are looking for some good prices on tickets the day before or the day of a show. There are great restaurants all around and plenty of shopping. You can walk to many of New York City's attractions and there are subway terminals and cabs everywhere.
The Exit:
Check out was a breeze. We used the television in the room to check out and dropped off our keys downstairs. The doorman hailed us a cab and handled our bags in the same pleasant way we were greeted upon arrival.
Overview:
We chose this hotel because of location and price relative to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The staff exceeded our expectations and we would definitely stay there again.
