Lisa_J's Full Review: The Music of Christmas by Steven Curtis Chapman
Steven Curtis Chapman The Music of Christmas
Christmas Is All In The Heart In a one bedroom apartment on the humble side of town
There stands a little Christmas tree, looks a lot like Charlie Brown’s
And underneath there’s one little gift for him and one little gift for her
After six months one the new job, they’re barely getting by
So in the way of decorations, there’s nothing there to catch your eye
But both of them would be the first to say
We’re together, we’re gonna have the merriest Christmas anyway
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart, that’s where the feeling starts
And like a fire inside, it touches every part
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart
And even if no white snow falls, that’s all right because
The joy can still be found, wherever you are
‘Cause Christmas is all, all in the heart
Two little blonde haired boys with big dreams, tried to sleep but sleep wouldn’t come
We’d be tearing into presents, long before the break of dawn
With Mom and Dad and cameras making sure we’d never forget that day
Now I’m the one who’s taking the pictures, in the middle of the night
Of my own blonde headed dreamers that just can’t wait until daylight
And in my sleepy eyes the spark still glows
Well I guess there’s just some things a kid never outgrows
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart, that’s where the feeling starts
And like a fire inside, it touches every part
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart
And even if no white snow falls, that’s all right because
The joy can still be found, wherever you are
‘Cause Christmas is all, all in the heart
No, it’s not in the snow that may or may not fall
And it’s not in the gifts around the tree
It’s in the love heaven gave, the night our Savior came
And that same love can still be found wherever you are
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart
And the joys can still be found, wherever you are
‘Cause Christmas is all in the heart
It’s all in the heart

Isn’t that the truth! No matter what your faith is your attitude about and for Christmas comes from your heart! This Christmas CD is certainly one of my favorite! I like to reflect on the important things during this season. Music like this helps me to keep things in proper perspective.
All ready having a fondness for Steven Curtis Chapmans music style, I was excited three Christmas ago to acquire this recording. I adore Christmas music - this kind anyway - and we are always keeping our ear open for new releases. Yes, we are one of those families that load our CD changer and listen, listen, listen!
During an all time consumerism draw towards materialistic spending, it is great to be reminded that Christmas is all in the heart. Don’t misunderstand me, I love to give gifts and of course receiving is nice too. But, I think it is so important that we remember the spirit of the holiday.
I really like how Steven grasps the heartfelt sensations of this season in his above referenced song. This morning I was looking at last years scrapbook pages of Christmas and remembered my fondness of this CD recording. Of course, an epinion formed. ;)
Seriously, I have had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Steven Curtis Chapman. and I offer to you that he is an incredibly sincere man. He lives what he sings about. The love for his wife, children, and the Lord is evident.
Jesus Is The Reason For “Our” Christmas Season!
For my family we rejoice in the Savior – Jesus’ birth! We spend time together with our church family, with our family and friends, and we celebrate the love we have for one another. Our children look forward to our Happy Birthday Jesus party on December 25th! A sign adorns the front of our home proclaiming “Jesus Is The Reason For The Season!”
For some, I realize that the Christian approach is not your purpose for the season. I am certain though that you realize the importance of family and friends and will all appreciate “Christmas is all in the heart!”

A Family Man!
I really admire the fact that even throughout his Contemporary Christian Music popularity, Steven Curtis Chapman is a dedicated husband – father – and Christian! He is married to a wonderful woman – Mary Beth. They have three children: Emily, Caleb, & Will Franklin.
Among the non-profit organizations that Steven Curtis Chapman supports one is Prison Fellowship. And, he encourages us to partake in the “Angel Tree Christmas”. This is a program that provides Christmas gifts to the families of prisoners.
Contemporary Christian
The overall style of this production partakes a Contemporary Christian flair. If you are familiar with Steven’s other recordings (The Great Adventure, Heaven In The Real World, Speechless, Signs Of Life….) and appreciate his style, then you will be certain to appreciate this Christmas collection.
If you like this Christmas recording, I also recommend:
