Pros: Actually meets the temp ratings

The Bottom Line: Great sleeping bag - get this bag - but try and find it on sale.

| jbahner's Full Review: The North Face Cat's Meow Reg |
This is an excellent sleeping bag that not only meets the temp ratings but dispells the myths I had about Northface gear. I had always been told to stay away from Northface because the zippers and moving parts around them were "sketchy". So I followed my friends advice until my local retailer found an old (99') Northface Cat's Meow during a huge sale and offered it to me for $90. Well a bag like that - with its degree rating and my need (a trip rapidly approacing in a week without a sleeping bag) I took the risk. Well the trip was miserable. It rained, it was cold and the people I was with - well lets not get into that. But I slept like a baby. No problems with the bag what-so-ever.
So anyway.... on with the review
Features
- Pillow - got a nice pillow sack that you can stuff with a sweater or whatever and is nice for you that like pillows.
- Watch Pouch - also got a pouch near the face to put your watch in case you have a alarm on it (I guess that is what is for - that is what I used it for anyway). This also doubles as the velcro for that goes over the zipper at the top.
- Color - looks really techhy - if you into fashion when you hike - then you'll like the "shinny quality" of this
- Hood - of course like any other bag at this temp it has a hood to keep your face warm
- Stuff Sack - it comes with two - one for storage - that is larger that will not keep it too tight, and one for backpacking that is real tight and compact. I don't have the EXACT details on size - what do I look like a Northface salesman!!!
Anyway - the only problem I have had with this bag came about when I was looking for one. One night I was going to write this review and I decided I better sleep on it, literally. So I slept in that night on my bed. Well I found that I can't curl up like I am used to. Some bags have features that allow you to do this. But for a cost I am sure. Soooo if that is a must than seek that out.
