| joecat2000's Full Review: The North Face Denali Jacket Womens |
I have the Denali jacket from a few years ago. I'm glad the design has not changed, as it is perfect. The only disappointment in my jacket is that the women's jack only has one chest pocket -- it lacks the smaller "key" pocket. The pockets could have been lined with a more durable material. (But maybe I shouldn't put my keys there.)
Made of Polartec 300, it is very warm. Pit zips allow you to cool off. Nylon reinforces high-wear areas - the shoulders and forearms.
The garment is very well cut and allows full movement of the arms. It is not too close-fitting, and not bulky under a jacket. The length is cut to the top of the hips. An elasticized drawstring allows you to adjust the fit at the waist. This is an improvement over the previous model, which just had an elasticized waist -- I prefer to wear it loose. The cuffs are elasticized with a thin band, allowing it to fit under a jacket without bulk.
It zips into the Mountain and Mountain Light jackets made by North Face, and probably others too.
I've worn it for skiing and snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, traveling and just around town.
