The Bottom Line: With songs like 'Prisoners Of Love' and 'Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band?', the only reason to avoid this CD is if you're a boring, stupid, dull, person.
...then along came The Producers! This is one of my favorite musicals of all time, and since I bought the CD just the day before yesterday, I haven't been able to put it down. I think people are starting to believe my CD player earphones are part of my head permanently or something ;-).
But seriously, this is the best of the best. Mel Brooks, as usual, gives us hilarious lyrics and tunes equal to Sondheim or Rogers and Hammerstein. From 'That Face' (that song always makes me melt, for some strange reason) to 'In Old Bavaria' (every time, I finish listening to that song with tears of laughter running down my face from the sheer hilarity of it all). And especially the masterpiece, 'Springtime For Hitler'. Mel Brooks is a genius. He MUST be from a different planet, he's so out of the box. But if he is, the world would be a better place if we all lived on his planet!
