You'll never go back to one of those heavy, huge, hard-to-clean blenders of yesteryear to blend your shakes, smoothies, soups, sauces and the like. Not when you can, like me, use The Sharper Image Stainless Steel, 2-Speed, Handheld, Immersion Blender that looks just like a twenty-first century rocket ready for take-off. I managed to burn out my old Osterizer tabletop blender recently--somehow the plastic cup in its lid fell into my shake without my realizing it--and I determined to try out a blender without one of those silly, hazardous lids. My rocket was cleared for take-off about a month ago and it's been smooth soaring ever since!
Its ergonomic, silver with black crown design really does remind you of a rocket. Firing with 200 Watt Power there's no blending challenge it can't handle within seconds. Before purchasing my rocket I borrowed a girlfriend's handheld immersion blender from a cheap brand not even in the database (the name has already escaped me) and using it for minutes on my fruity shake resulted in what resembled and tasted like road kill with berry skins floating around. My rocket experience has been a blast as it whipped those skins to smithereens and now they're creamed like the rest of my shake. This, you may infer, is a vast improvement adding to my sensory delight, for not only does my shake present itself more appealingly, but the smoother, more harmonious ride down my esophagus means I may drink it more quickly without chewing it or perhaps flossing afterwards.
The immersion blender with its high and low speeds comes with a tall, plastic glass (three cups) just dandy for making my shakes, but besides this The Sharper Image includes a powerful chopper attachment that comes with a handy, plastic chopper bowl (almost three cups), a sharp blade and childproof lid that snaps on with ease. I've had fun chopping up vegetables with it in half the time it once took me with my mini-chopper. Plus you also receive a sturdy whisk attachment that I've only enjoyed using on hot chocolate containing full fat coconut milk. Dreamy!
In the English-only (!) instruction manual you will find help in operating the rocket, chopper and whisk without killing yourself or your new kitchen friends. You are also offered the option to mount your own rocket on the wall to lend some polish to its décor, although I rather like it sitting proudly on my table like a hood ornament. As far as keeping it spiffy looking, clean up couldn't be easier as you unattach its bottom from its noble top part and swish it (the bladed part) in some soapy water. The other attachments spruce up nicely too without much effort.
You might think that owning The Sharper Image Stainless Steel, 2-Speed, Handheld, Immersion Blender might cost an arm or leg, but you would be wrong. At almost forty dollars from Amazon.com or the company's website, you won't feel much pain in the physical or financial sense. I believe that with the quality manufacture of this investment I can expect a long, happy flight into heavenly bliss.
