Yeah...I'm scared to get Nightlife. Big time-sucker plus I feel like I just wasted my time after. I should swear off Sims games altogether.

Yeah, this game was bugs bugs bugs. The good news is that Nightlife has been running really smoothly, but load times are getting a bit close to nightmare territory.

Also, what the hell is the whole paying bills thing whilst in a dorm? That made no sense either. That and no one cleaned anything up ever.

Hmm, I'd rather be an army than a quarterback, but I'd rather be a QB than a dragon. Dragons have to steal princesses. Plus they always get murdered.

Yeah...liberty spikes! Woo hoo! But I'm wondering if they purposely left it out of Sims 2.

It just gives you a bar and if work on it long enough, it fills and you get an A.

If it were only that easy in college. Also you can't make people write your papers for you unless you want to get kicked out of school.

when Epinions would finally get around to putting this expansion pack in the database. I'm not too keen on this one myself, although it does at least include some cool new hairstyles and allows you to skip the wretched teenager phase.

Good job on this review!

I've always been partial to Age of Empires (or some version thereof). Forget being a 6'4" quarterback - I'd rather be an entire army or a dragon or something. Haha. But the locked doors thing totally sounds like my dorm, even though we do have the option of knocking... My friend is a Sims junkie, so if she starts looking at this one I'll tell her what I've heard. ^_^

That's what I was thinking. I mean, you can't even play this game without having played Sims 2 first.

Well, this is an expansion. I think that generally an expansion doesn't need quite as much description as a standalone game unless the expansion makes major changes to core mechanics. In this case, there's a link to the review of the standalone game, so a few brief mentions that the basic gameplay, graphics, &etc seems to be good enough for me.

I hate to be the dissenting opinion, but I've never played the Sims so I really don't know what kind of game it is. Is it in the first person? Do you actually micromanage things? Do you direct your character? Does he do anything by himself? Just a quick blurb on the game mechanics would make it more helpful to me.

Great lean n' Mean review. Not only was it to the point and covered all of the major bases, but it was an enjoyable read, too. Keep up the good, concise work!

Thanks for the suggestion. I added a link to my very verbose Sims 2 review because these two games obviously look the same. I'd add a link to my laptop for specs but I should update that first since I've come to realize it's a piece of crap.

...although I personally like more detail on the graphics, and a listing of minimum and recommended hardware. But hey, that's just me!

Enjoyed the review,
