Mike,
Thanks buddy. I'm working on a review of Raspberries "Live On Sunset Strip" CD as I write this, so your bank account may hate me further.
I'm behind on reading your work as well, but I'll catch up.
Cheers!
Don :)

Actually Don... Massively Helpful (Reply to this comment)

I'm trying to read some of your reviews slowly (the only reason for the slow voting). Trouble is, each time I come to your review site... it's costing me (and I well and truly mean that)!
Absolutely great review- as well as the Side 3 Tribute. Side 3 was the first Raspberries album I ever bought and remains to this day, one of the several key buys I ever made. The music energized me, helped me in my desire to tackle and learn bass and drums, and still to this day, it would be one of the seven albums I would take if I was forced onto a desert island.
Thanks again, Don... my bank account hates you!

WP,
Glad to know you liked the review. My background is journalism, and I've grown (hopefully) from writing short newspaper-style reviews to more detailed, magazine feature-style reviews for some of my favorite acts. Not everyone likes my style (frequent shouts of "it's too long.." from a few readers), but I like the format and it seems to work for me --- hope it works for you, too, my friend.
I read on a message board some folks talking about my writing style and calling it "educational reviewing," and I kind of like that description. I like reviews that tell me something new and keep my interest.

Suzanne,
Good to hear from you! Hopefully some of my passion for the artist's album comes across.

Paul,
Well, gee, if that's the best you can offer...
Thanks, buddy. Anytime a guy in the Iraqi desert finds time to read one of my reviews, well, I appreciate that very much.
You're the one who should be thanked for everything you do in the service of our country. Be safe.
Garry Owen, sir!
