These recipes definitely are not compatible with having a life outside of the kitchen.

If this is how people in the California wine country eat, then they must all have personal chefs. I enjoy cooking but this was ridiculous. It would take me over an hour to make lunch and close to 2 to make dinner following the suggested menus.

I could NEVER EVER do this, EVER!!! It takes me however long my microwave meal takes for lunch :). The title of the book sounded so appealing, too....

I enjoyed your review, sorry the plan didn't really work out for you.

I am an equal opportunity SAPer, so I will be bothering many of the CL's on an equal basis!

WHAT??!?!?!?

Are you trying to get me into trouble??!?!? If so, let me tell you that I got my TR and A emails and have kept all my hats... so (he says very maturely) - nyah nyah nee nyah nyah. :-P

Erm...

Anyway, great review of a book I won't be getting. I'm trying the Abs Diet myself though not convinced by everything it says...

Thanks for (another) WO entry!

I bought the book just a to add a new cook book to my collection. When I heard all the hype around the diet I figured I may as well try it.

This purchase was mostly about adding another cookbook to my collection. When I started to hear the hype on TV about it I figured I may as well at least try the diet as well. Thanks for the comment.

I'd wanted to look into this, but now I'm not sure.

You should know, though, that cooking fresh is much much easier in California than almost anyplace else I've ever been. You have farmer's market quality fruits and veggies year round, so a diet like this is probably more feasible there than in the northeast.

their recipes. I like you try these diets, but find after a while I cannot sustain them for a variety of reasons. For one it is sometimes difficult to eat fresh foods all the time because of the time involved to get them and also sometimes it is difficult to find some of these foods, especially if they are organic, though thankfully many supermarkets are providing organic.

Great review.
