Pros: One of the best Lincoln Rhyme novels. The book kept me guessing.
Cons: Did not fully explain the actions of some of the characters from previous books.
The Bottom Line: Stone Monkey was a good thinking man's mystery. The research was superb and gave me a lot to think about even after I'd finished the book.

The newest Lincoln Rhyme novel lives up to the standard the other books in the series have set. Research was superb and really brought home the plight of Chinese immigrants. The plot was well structured, although there were times when a little too much was going on to follow easily. I really enjoyed the character that was a police officer from China. He was fun, and knew exactly what needed to be found at the crime scenes without being overly technical. I wish he could have made it to further books, but since he was killed off, I guess not.
I enjoy books that keep you thinking about all the possibilities, and this one did it for me. It all culminated in a good ending that was surprisingly complicated, politics being what they are. It made me think about the things our government does without our knowledge.
A great mystery by one of the best mystery writers in the business. I hope the next Lincoln Rhyme novel won't be as long in coming.
