There's a reason why I do my best to avoid all things Martha Stewart, and why the mere mention of making napkin rings out of corrugated cardboard and vases out of gourds in a cookbook can be enough to make me shudder in horror. I swear Martha Stewart is one of the greater demons of hell...

We used to somehow cram about 8 people into our apartment. I'm still not sure how we did it. We're trying to remind ourselves that if we really want, we can actually have more people than that over this time, now that we have the house. So we don't have to do this huge, delicate dance of deciding how to winnow the possible list down to 8 including us.

Yeah, try something else first. And then go to my cooking resources page (off of my homepage) and read the article on how to put together a big thanksgiving dinner without spraining yourself. :) There are lots of ways to make things easier on yourself.

Sounds like this is definitely worth a look! Erik and I never had gatherings in the apartment, which lacked the room for people to sit. Now that we have a house with an honest-to-god dining table, we keep saying we should have a dinner party. I don't know if I want to tackle Thanksgiving quite yet, but who knows... :)
